German auto components producer MAHLE and US-based battery service firm Midtronics will collectively develop service tools. The aim is to offer holistic battery diagnostics and upkeep from a single supply over the life cycle of batteries and automobiles.

MAHLE says it brings to the partnership its experience in refrigerant service, ADAS calibration, and battery and automobile diagnostics. Midtronics contributes expertise in low- and high-voltage battery monitoring, inspection, diagnostics and repair.

“Due to the pace of change in battery and electrical automobile expertise, no firm within the automotive service world is prepared. This collaboration makes it quicker and simpler for the aftermarket to transition to electrical automobile service,” stated Will Sampson, President of Midtronics.
